NATO is concerned over the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and urges to avoid escalation, said NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg during the talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, RIA Novosti reported.

Stoltenberg called the conflict a matter of concern and urged both sides to avoid any new escalation, adding, “NATO supports the efforts of the OSCE Minsk Group.”

According to Stoltenberg, he was encouraged by renewed dialogue between Aliyev and Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan.

“We encourage you to continue the path to a negotiated solution and to avoid any new escalation,” said Stoltenberg.
