CARSON, Calif. — The deepest postseason run in Central Washington women's basketball history ended against the No. 4 team in the nation Monday night.

The Wildcats fell 70-47 to West Region No. 1 seed and host Cal State Dominguez Monday night in the Sweet 16, ending the careers of two senior starters. One of them, GNAC player of the year and all-time leading CWU scorer Sunny Huerta, led the offense with 20 points despite a tough shooting night for all the Wildcats.

They finished 23% from the field and committed 23 turnovers, including six minutes without scoring to allow Cal State Dominguez Hill to open up an 11-0 lead. Central put up just 20 points in the first half and ended up with its lowest total of the season.

The Wildcats finished their season 23-8 after knocking off No. 3 Point Loma and No. 7 Chico State to open the NCAA tournament.
