ALL RIGHT, WELL, IF YOU ARE GOING TO RIDE YOUR BIKE OUTSIDE, TODAY WAS THE DAY TO DO IT. NOT TOMORROW. OH, MAN. AND TOMORROW SOME FOLKS ARE GOING TO HAVE TO PULL OUT THE SNOW BOOTS AND THE COATS ALL OVER AGAIN. YEAH, IT’S DEFINITELY GOING TO FEEL A LOT COLDER AS WE GET INTO WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON AND EVENING. AND THURSDAY MORNING IS GOING TO BE A COLD START TO THE DAY AS WELL. SO WE’RE KIND OF GOING FROM MILD SPRING LIKE WEATHER BACK TO WINTER, WHERE YOU’RE DEFINITELY GOING TO NEED AT LEAST THE HEAVIER JACKET FOR THE NEXT AT LEAST A COUPLE OF DAYS IN THE MORNING HOURS. TEMPERATURES TODAY, THOUGH NO SIGN OF WINTER HERE. UPPER 70S CLOSE TO 80 IN OTTUMWA TODAY. A LITTLE BIT COOLER UP ACROSS THE NORTHERN TIER OF THE STATE. AS EXPECTED. AND THEN EVERYONE COOLS DOWN AS WE GO THROUGH THE DAY TOMORROW. NO RAIN OR SNOW JUST YET. WE’VE GOT A FEW RETURNS COMING IN BACK INTO CENTRAL PORTIONS OF NEBRASKA. THAT WILL BE WHAT WE’RE WATCHING, AND THAT WILL EVENTUALLY MOVE INTO WESTERN IOWA. HERE, AS WE GET INTO THE PRE-DAWN HOURS ON WEDNESDAY. SO WE’VE GOT THE BLIZZARD WARNING FOR NORTHWEST IOWA THAT GOES PRETTY MUCH ALL DAY ON WEDNESDAY. SO WHITEOUT CONDITIONS, WIND GUSTS BACK UP TO 60, MAYBE 65MPH. LOW VISIBILITIES BLOWING SNOW AT TIMES WILL ALL BE POSSIBLE ACROSS NORTHWEST IOWA TOMORROW. THEN EVERYONE ELSE HERE ACROSS THE STATE IS JUST DEALING WITH PLAIN OLD, STRONG, GUSTY WINDS. IT WILL BE BLUSTERY FROM START TO FINISH TOMORROW. I THINK HERE IN CENTRAL IOWA, OUR WIND GUSTS PROBABLY CLOSER TO MAYBE 50 TO 60MPH. SOME OF THOSE STRONGER WINDS I THINK WILL REALLY BE FOCUSED INTO THE WESTERN HALF OF THE STATE, UP ACROSS NORTHWESTERN IOWA. SO BY TOMORROW MORNING, WINDS ARE GUSTING PRETTY STRONG HERE UP ACROSS NORTHERN AND NORTHWESTERN IOWA. SPENCER, FORT DODGE, CARROLL ATLANTIC STILL GUSTING TO MAYBE 40 TO 45MPH IN THE MORNING. WINDS GET STRONGER THROUGHOUT THE DAY AS THAT SYSTEM PULLS ACROSS THE STATE. WE’VE GOT NORTHERLY WINDS THROUGH TOMORROW EVENING WITH THOSE GUSTS BY FIVE 6:00 TOMORROW EVENING STILL UPWARDS OF 50 TO 55MPH. SO BREEZY ALL DAY TOMORROW. WINDY, I SHOULD SAY. AND THEN IT STILL STAYS ELEVATED. AS FAR AS THE WINDS ARE CONCERNED, AT LEAST UNTIL THURSDAY MORNING. BY THURSDAY MIDDAY, THOSE WINDS BACK OFF CONSIDERABLY AS WE GO INTO THE REST OF THE DAY ON THURSDAY. UNTIL THEN, IT’S GOING TO BE WINDY HERE ALL DAY TOMORROW. CLOUDS ALREADY ON THE INCREASE. THEY’LL CONTINUE TO THICKEN UP HERE AS WE HEAD CLOSER TOWARDS MIDNIGHT. BY THREE 4:00 WE’RE LOOKING AT SOME SHOWERS, MAYBE A FEW RUMBLES OF THUNDER EMBEDDED IN HERE. BY EARLY TOMORROW MORNING. IF WE DO SEE SOME STORMS, MAYBE 1 OR 2 OF THOSE COULD BE ON THE STRONGER SIDE. OTHERWISE, HEAVY SNOW STARTS TO DEVELOP HERE ON THE BACKSIDE OF THIS BIG AREA OF LOW PRESSURE. AND THAT’S GOING TO SET UP THAT BAND OF HEAVY SNOW, SAY FOR MASON CITY BACK DOWN TO FORT DODGE INTO EASTERN PORTIONS OF NEBRASKA, OMAHA, COUNCIL BLUFFS YOU’RE RIGHT ON THE EDGE OF THAT HEAVY BAND OF SNOW. SO THAT’S WHERE WE SEE MOST OF THE HEAVY SNOW. THAT’S WHERE WE HAVE THE BLIZZARD LIKE CONDITIONS EXPECTED THROUGHOUT THE DAY. TOMORROW WE GO INTO WEDNESDAY AFTERNOON, WIND STARTS, OR I SHOULD SAY, SNOW STARTS TO LET UP. JUST A LITTLE BIT. OF COURSE, AS IT MOVES INTO CENTRAL IOWA. SO WE’RE NOT LOOKING AT MUCH IN ACCUMULATION HERE ACROSS THE METRO AREA. EVERYTHING IS OUT OF HERE BY LATE WEDNESDAY NIGHT. THURSDAY, BACK TO SUNSHINE AND WARMTH BY THE AFTERNOON. BUT YOU’LL NOTICE WE COULD SEE SOME HEAVIER TOTALS THERE IN THE PURPLE. NORTHWEST IOWA KIND OF THE BULLSEYE HERE. AND THEN THOSE TOTALS CUT OFF PRETTY DRASTICALLY AS YOU MOVE SOUTH AND EAST CLOSER TO CENTRAL IOWA. AND AGAIN, METRO AREA PROBABLY MAYBE AN INCH IF WE GET THAT. BUT REALLY STRONG WINDS, THE VISIBILITY CONCERNS, DRIFTING SNOW AND THOSE SIGNIFICANT SNOW TOTALS ARE REALLY GOING TO BE FOCUSED ACROSS NORTHWEST IOWA ONCE WE GET THROUGH THE DAY ON WEDNESDAY, IT’S A COLDER START TO THURSDAY. OVERNIGHT LOWS DROPPING INTO THE MID 20S. IT WILL PROBABLY FEEL MORE LIKE THE UPPER TEENS AS YOU’RE WAKING UP THURSDAY MORNING. WE’LL REBOUND BY THE AFTERNOON, CLOSE TO 50 FOR THE FIRST DAY OF SPRING, AND THEN MILD BACK
