Indiana State Police Fort Wayne District results from weekend patrols

FORT WAYNE DISTRICT—This past weekend, the Indiana State Police Fort Wayne Post executed targeted patrols across the district to detect criminal activity and apprehend dangerous and impaired drivers.

Friday night, in six hours, four Troopers in the Steuben County area issued 30 warnings and 17 tickets, made five operating a vehicle while intoxicated arrests, filed 34 criminal charges, and took seven people to jail.

Criminal charges included possession of a controlled substance, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with alcohol, operating a vehicle while intoxicated with drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of paraphernalia, and operating a vehicle while never having received a license.

On Saturday, in a four-hour period, 8 Troopers working in Whitley and Allen Counties wrote 42 warnings and 15 tickets and made seven criminal arrests, including three drug arrests and three operating a vehicle while intoxicated arrests.

The Indiana State Police is unwavering in its commitment to promoting public and traffic safety. We will continue to conduct saturation patrols, a crucial part of our strategy to detect and apprehend impaired drivers and stop crime.
