The national team of local players (A') commenced a training camp in Annaba on Monday, March 17, in preparation for the second round of the CHAN 2025 qualifiers. The camp will run until March 24, as announced by the Algerian Football Federation (FAF).
Under the guidance of head coach Madjid Bougherra, the Greens held their first training session at 10 p.m. on the annex field of the May 19, 1956 Stadium in Annaba. The session, attended by 20 players, focused mainly on recovery.
However, CR Belouizdad players Abderrahmane Meziane, Raouf Benguit, Naoufel Khacef, and Billal Boukerchaoui, who played a league match against USMA (1-1) on Sunday, were given a rest day and were expected to rejoin the squad the following day.
Meanwhile, Reda Helaïmia (MC Alger), Mehdi Merghem, and Imad Eddine Azzi (USM Alger) were ruled out due to injuries and officially exempted from the training camp. Goalkeeper Oussama Benbout (USM Alger) was called up to replace the absent Anthony Mandrea.
Additionally, six MC Alger players participated in the initial phase of the group session before following a customized training program under the fitness coach’s supervision. They returned to their hotel before the session concluded.
